Heidi’s Perfect Magic Kingdom Day(s)!:
Okay, to be honest, this is a two day park for my family so if you have time, definitely split this plan up into Day 1 (Fantasyland & Tomorrow Land) and Day 2 (everything else).
-Arrive EARLY & ROPE DROP SEVEN DWARVES MINE TRAIN.
-Hit up all your other favorite classics in Fantasyland: Peter Pans Flight, It’s a Small World (do these two before lines get long or come back later when wait times are lower)
-While you’re over here- head to the west side of the castle to Sleepy Hollow & grab a Nutella & fruit waffle!
-Snake back to Fantasyland & do Carousel, Enchanted Tales w/ Belle (when operating), Under the Sea, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Mad Tea Party (no spinning for me, please), & Winnie the Pooh.
-From there you’re ready to conquer Tomorrowland:
-Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress (please tell me you love it too!?), People Mover & Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger. Loser here buys lunch. Kids meals at Cosmic Ray’s are always a hit with my chicken strip loving crew but you may prefer some of our dining recommendations above.
-If Monster’s Laugh Floor is going, that’s a must do too!
If this took your full day (on a 2 day plan), the parks are probably slowing down now so it’s a great time to hop in shorter lines for some of tomorrow’s “big” rides: Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain. Any of these you miss today, plan to rope drop day 2.
-Heading into Adventureland, we love to explore Swiss Family Treehouse.
-Ride: Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean.
-Controversial opinion: You can skip the Tiki Room (unless you need a nap- but even then, Hall of Presidents or Country Bear Jamboree offer much better seating for nap time). ;)
-Frontier land be sure to ride Splash Mountain (if the line is long, come back later), Big Thunder Mountain, & take a raft ride over to Tom Sawyer Island if you have time to explore.
-Over to Liberty Square: Be sure to note the brown down the middle of the pathways & see if your kids can guess what it represents. The Liberty Square Riverboat is a nice relaxing ride which offers unique views of the park you don’t normally see. (Also good for a nap). -Haunted Mansion (if you dare) and you’ve conquered all the big attractions at Magic Kingdom.
Don’t forget to spend time walking through Cinderella’s gorgeous castle, looking for hidden Pascal’s by the world famous “Rapunzel Bathrooms” and of course enjoying the treats & shops on Main Street USA. (The stores typically stay open past close so no need to rush out!)
If parades & shows are on the schedule (or pop up cavalcades), DON’T MISS THEM! They really make the best memories.
Bonus tip: Parks get busiest 11-3. Consider hopping on a fairy boat to explore a nearby resort. Grab a Dole Whip at Polynesian or do a scavenger hunt at Fort Wilderness Lodge. So much fun to be had away from the busyness of the parks!
Listen to your littles (& yourself) and take breaks when you need them. Soak in all the magic, make the best memories, & have the most magical & amazing day!
